In broadcasting, he spent 25 years as a radio and sports play-by-play announcer, sixteen of those years as the highest-rated midday radio host in the US. As a TV writer in Hollywood he wrote several episodes on the #1 kid's show in the world, Lizzie McGuire. Also an actor, he most recently was "Slammin' Sammy Stands" the sports announcer throughout the film, Friday Night Lights. Over the years Bob and his company Paradise Management have managed many talented people. One is the country music star Kenny Chesney. Bob helped to direct Kenny during the first two years of his career, introducing Kenny to numerous people in the country music business that would later be a part of Kenny's many successes. In gratitude, Kenny has a dedication to Bob in the liner notes on his first CD, "In MY Wildest Dreams.". Kenny Chesney presented Bob Thomas with a Gold Album to commemorate the sales of one million copies of Chesney's CD "Everywhere We Go." The Gold Album and inscription can be seen below. |
